Italian highway signs

...come in two flavors: a simple blue-backed diagrammatic signboard that always precedes your turn by at least a hundred meters (you are presumed to be an Italian driving absurdly fast), and then, upon arrival at the roundabout, a small arrow, in the appropriate color (usually blue) with a town name and its distance in kilometers. Intersections will frequently have a cluster of blue-arrow signs stacked atop one another like a Bugs-Bunny cartoon.
